Yeah, I watched it. I figured it was a smart thing to do, I mean, if your going to disagree with something you should know what you are disagreeing with shouldn’t you?. I honestly went into it with an open mind. Well, as open as I could get it once I saw “her” face. I say this without any spite or venom. The socialist(D) message could not have been more clear. Progressive tax? Universal pre-K? Carbon tax? Unlimited federal disaster relief? Several times I watched as “she”, when asked a question, would mention how complex this, that or the other is. What I heard was, “citizen, you are too stupid to understand, just let me handle it.” It’s nothing new. Kucinich said “impeach” and “Constitution” a kajillion times.
Honestly, I watched to try and learn what the other side had to offer.

Convicted murderer Abdus-Shahid M.S. Ali is suing prison officials for confiscating two of his copies of the Quran and a prayer rug. The case has made it all the way to the Supreme Court where the Bush administration is now urging the Court to bar Ali from suing the prison officials. Bush says that the Muslim inmate should be limited to filing an administrative complaint … just like thousands of other prisoners have to do every year.
Ali says that his copies of the Quran and his rug have been missing since 2003, when he was moved from a federal penitentiary in Atlanta to a facility in Kentucky. Ali is serving a sentence of 20 years to life in prison for committing first-degree murder in DC.

Bush blasts House for ‘wasting time’ on investigations By Klaus Marre
President Bush on Tuesday slammed Congress for not getting its work done and focusing too much on investigating his administration and repeatedly attempting to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq.
“We’re near the end of the year, and there really isn’t much to show for it,” Bush told reporters following a meeting with House GOP leaders.
“The House of Representatives has wasted valuable time on a constant stream of investigations, and the Senate has wasted valuable time on an endless series of failed votes to pull our troops out of Iraq,” the president said.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) rejected Bush’s attacks.
“The president calls congressional oversight that has uncovered tens of billions of dollars in waste, fraud, and abuse in Iraq a ‘waste of time,’ ” Pelosi said. “We call billions spent in no-bid contracts to Halliburton a waste of money.”
With regard to Bush’s claim that the 110th Congress has little to show for, Pelosi pointed to several major bills that have been signed into law this year, including homeland security legislation, a minimum wage increase, and a tightening of lobbying and ethics rules.
“Instead of criticizing Congress, the president’s time would be better spent working in a bipartisan way to end this disastrous war in Iraq, keep our promises to our veterans by providing the largest veterans’ healthcare investment in history, and providing healthcare for 10 million children.” (more…)

EDWARDS’ NEW DEAL
John Edwards wants to institute New Deal-like programs to fight poverty and stem growing wealth prosperity … if he is elected President. The “if he’s elected president” part means that we don’t have to worry about Edwards right now .. but his ideas are typical big-government Democrat.
There are many wonderful evidences of the United States greatness. We started as that, “rowdy gaggle of heathens”, declared our independence, drafted a constitution, and invented peanut butter. Along the way we established ourselves as the nation to emulate in matters of fashion, trends, music, movies, and most importantly, our mode of Government. But somehow along the way we have become to some a nuisance, to some an enemy, and to some, just plain pathetic and useless. On the playground of the world we have become, to some, that kid to be bullied and tripped in the hallways. It wasn’t always this way. We have spiraled into a quagmire of a government that doesn’t work, and we have the surge of 60’s radical socialist running our society to thank. Here’s what we are doing wrong and how I am convinced we can fix what’s broken in America, and regain our standing amongst our fellow creatures on this rock called earth. This is what I would do.
Maybe I need to take a break from reading the news for a few weeks. Take some time to get caught up on cartoons, build a birdhouse, or get those rock hard abs I see advertised on television. It seems there is so much going on in the world, that a simple mind such as my own, can barely make sense of the deluge of doom, gloom and socialist(D) rhetoric.
I see middle school children given birth control, children on murderous rampages in school halls, terrorist lecturing at Universities, I see our military banned from entire city’s. I see high schoolers re-writing the pledge of allegiance, G-D completely taken out of all public life, social workers and physicians asking children questions about their parents drinking and other forms of interrogation, (more…)
It’s easy to see the disguises that the Democratic Party is planning to don for Halloween.
While we can only speculate on the taxes they are planning to increase — everything would be a safe bet — it is becoming clear how they will dress the tax increases up to make the radical change they will, in fact, represent seem moderate and reasonable, even necessary to protect the “middle class.” (more…)
TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930’s, 40’s, 50’s, 60’s and 70’s!!
First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn’t get tested for diabetes.

According to notes from CNN’s Monday news meeting network president Jon Klein tells employees to use the California fire tragedy to “push” their “Planet in Peril” special, but warns reporters not to “irresponsibly link” the fires to “Global Warming.”
